Why did I choose Blaise Pascal to write on

I chose Blaise Pascal as the character to research and write on partly because of the word ‘Pascal’ in his name. I had learned about ‘Pascal’ as a unit to measure pressure in Science when I was studying in Secondary One so the word felt very familiar when I saw it. The other names that were given as examples at the website given were unfamiliar to me other than the names ‘Isaac Newton’, ‘Albert Einstein’, ‘Pythagoras’ and ‘Hans Christian Anderson’.

I felt that the first two names mentioned were too common so I did not choose them and I also did not choose Hans Christian Anderson because I wanted to research on Science or Mathematics instead of literature. I decided on Blaise Pascal instead of Pythagoras as I felt that it might be more interesting.

The other reason why I decided to write on Blaise Pascal is because he is a very successful mathematician, scientist and philosopher and I have a strong interest for both Mathematics and Science. He was also the man who built the second digital calculator ever and improved it into a great invention so I felt that he is a very important and respectable person.
